Dunchideock Barton plants a range of coniferous and deciduous trees every Autumn, for example, oak, beech, ash and Douglas fir which is used for the biomass boilers.

Dunchideock Barton is committed to a conservation scheme planting hedgerows and managing established hedges in such a way as to benefit wildlife.

Annually Dunchideock Barton establishes a number of wild bird cover crops and over winter stubbles to provide food in the winter for native wild birds. The endangered cirl bunting (pictured) is one of the birds that is found on the farm and enjoys feeding in these winter stubbles.
